Spur Sizing Guide

Sprenger spur listings show different neck lengths, shapes and rowel designs. Use the stated product measurements to compare models; a neck length alone does not tell you how strong a spur will feel.

Compare the stated neck length

Current KE Sprenger listings include 15, 25, 30, 35 and 40 mm neck-length options. The range differs by model; some products use a one-size option. See the current spur measurement chart and read the exact product options.

Check boot fit and position

The spur should sit securely on the boot in the position intended by its design. Match the shape to your boot and leg position so that you can apply a controlled aid without changing your lower-leg position. Ask a qualified instructor if you are new to spurs or unsure about a model.

Rowels and maintenance

Rowel shape and movement differ by product. Check that a rowel turns freely and is clean before use. Do not assume that every rowel or plain neck has the same effect across models.
