Bucas Quilt Stay-Dry 150g Stable Rug
Use this size guide to find the correct rug size for your horse. Bucas sizes rugs by length, in centimetres. Each size also has a UK feet-and-inches reference and a US inches reference.
How to measure your horse for a Bucas rug:
- Body length (A to B): measure from the centre of the chest, over the highest point of the shoulder, to the rear of the hind leg. Bucas uses this single measurement to set the rug size.
Bucas measures to the rear of the hind leg. Other UK rug brands often measure to the point of the buttock instead. These two methods can give different readings on the same horse, so always use a horse's Bucas measurement when choosing a Bucas rug. Do not reuse a size or measurement taken for another brand's rug.

This size chart is a guideline. Broader, deeper built, or heavily muscled horses may need a larger size.
The Bucas Quilt is a versatile stable rug that can be used on its own or as an extra layer under your Bucas Turnout or Stable rug. The outer is a strong Oxford fabric which is durable and breathable. The quilt is available with 2 choices of lining: Stay-dry lining and Silk-feel Dermo-care lining. Both of these linings have moisture-wicking properties, with the Stay-dry lining acting faster because of its fleece texture and the Dermo-care silky lining smooth against the horse’s skin.
Thermobonded insulation of 50g, 150g and 300g gives you a great selection of insulation for your horse. The range also is available in a Big Neck option which is ideal for horses that are wider across the chest and breeds of horses like Friesians, Andalusians and Draughts. Sizes available are 85/3’6-170/7’2 in 150 SD, both Big Neck styles available in 125/5’6-165/7’0 and 300 SD, 300 SF, 150 SF and 50 SF all available in sizes 115/5’0-165/7’0 The Bucas Quilt Neck is also available in sizes XS-XL and is sold separately-Oxford Fabric outer, 600D-T-bar with Snap-lock closure-Dermo-care (SF) or Stay-dry (SD) lining-Shoulder darts-Cross surcingles-Silk-feel lining on shoulders (in SD version)-Attachments for leg straps-Fillet string-Attachment for Quilt Neck-Attachment points for use with Bucas turnouts or stable rugs
