PS of Sweden Athens Bridle - Black

The PS of Sweden Athens Bridle looks at first glance like it has a classic figure-eight or Mexican noseband, and a closer look reveals small details. The lower strap of the cavesson is anatomically curved to fit around the shape of the nose. It is softly padded at the cheekbones and on the nose bridge to avoid chafing, and the PS of Sweden logo is discreetly stamped on the leather as a stylish detail.

The padded cushion can be moved and adjusted for an optimal fit, and the long straps make the cavesson highly adjustable for each horse. The cavesson helps horses keep their airways free of pressure, and the buckles are covered in leather underneath to avoid chafing and give the horse increased comfort.

The headpiece has an air channel over the highest point of the neck and mane, giving maximum freedom to the neck's sensitive nerves, muscle attachments and ligaments. The edges are built-up and softly padded, with an anatomical shape around the ears, and a round cutout at the top distributes pressure evenly across the headpiece.

The cheekpieces are developed to reduce pressure from the neck via PS of Sweden's elastic Cradles™. A Cradle is an extra elastic band that the bit rests on, located partly in the cheekpieces by the bit and on PS of Sweden reins. The idea is that they act elastically and give the horse more comfort by letting the bit spring, which should relieve the teeth and jaws of static pressure. Many believe that horses prefer this type of bridle and that it can be gentler and more horse-friendly than regular bridles and reins. The Cradles are sewn in place, making it more suitable for jumping and eventing, and it works just as well for dressage at home. French hooks make it easy to change bits as needed.

The browband has a U-shaped design that keeps pressure off the horse's forehead and eye socket, and rubber on the inside of the buckle keeps it in place during the ride. The Click-It™ function makes it easy to remove and change the browband as needed, even when the horse is wearing the bridle.

Recommended for horses that are hot in riding, very sensitive around the jaw and teeth, become strong or spooky when approaching obstacles, and need a stable cavesson. It helps horses to hold and wait for the rider and is extra padded over the pressure points of the cheekbones. Reins are sold separately.
