Cavalor Gastro Aid Digestive Supplement
- ✓ Supports the stomach wall and a healthy stomach environment
- ✓ Supports a healthy appetite and normal digestion
- ✓ Stimulates saliva production during chewing
- ✓ Herbal formula with gentian, lemon balm, liquorice and ginger
Cavalor Gastro Aid is a digestive supplement that supports stomach health and a healthy appetite. It is a powder that you mix into the daily feed.
A horse's stomach produces acid around the clock, which makes it naturally sensitive, especially when forage intake is limited or during stressful periods. Gastro Aid supports a healthy stomach environment and helps maintain the normal structure and function of the stomach. It stimulates saliva production during chewing, the horse's natural first step in healthy digestion, and supports the stomach wall.
The formula mainly consists of herbs that protect the stomach wall and help neutralise stomach acid, including gentian, lemon balm, liquorice, ginger and centaury.

Key ingredients
- Yeast cultures (inactive): aid in feed absorption and the digestibility of feed materials.
- Gentiana lutea: stimulates saliva production and neutralises stomach acid, so there is less chance of the stomach acid affecting the stomach wall.
- Melissa officinalis: protects the stomach wall.
- Glycyrrhiza glabra: affects the regulation of the gastrointestinal function and has an antibacterial effect.
- Zingiber officinale: protects the stomach wall and helps damaged tissues heal faster.
- Centaurium erythraea: stimulates the production of saliva.
Feeding guide
Mix 30 g into feed daily for at least 4-6 weeks. 1 measuring scoop = 10 g. Maximum 100 g per day.
Suitability
Horses with a sensitive stomach are often more difficult about what they eat and do not tolerate powder on their feed, so Cavalor Gastro Aid is available in various forms (powder, liquid, paste). Where stomach ulcers have been diagnosed, the paste is often used first, and once the stomach is less sensitive and the horse is eating better you can switch from the paste to the powder or liquid.
The liquid and powder forms are also used daily as a preventive measure for horses that are susceptible to stomach ulcers. Unlike the drug omeprazole, Gastro Aid does not stop the production of stomach acid. However, it does protect the stomach from damage caused by stomach acid.
Cavalor describes it as a good fit for horses that can use extra digestive support during training, transport, competition or changes in routine.
